Maternity Clothes....ugh

Once again, my doctor was right.  (Which I have yet to really find a time that she's been wrong, but I question her still sometimes!)  I'm to the point where regular clothes just don't fit any more.

You see, up until now, I have bought 1, yes 1, single pair of maternity pants.  That's it.  I've been able to wear all of my other clothing with a little bit of modification using the Belly Band, but overall, no new shirts, and lots of dresses and skirts.  (which yes I know, should make me realize that I'm really not as huge as I feel!)

But I've broken down.  I can't do the regular clothes anymore.  And school is about to start and I won't be able to wear these oh so comfortable tank tops that I'm living in right now. (Plus half of them are creeping up my belly right about now anyway.)  I finally went in and purchased some maternity clothing that will work at school.  I was also given some great pants and such from my massage therapist's wife who is a horn player and about my size!  I am absolutely getting to the point where nothing hanging in my closet is any good.  Which is not good, since my wardrobe was limited to begin with, and now it's even more limited to just maternity clothes!  AGH!

But, I hate maternity clothes.  I thought I would like the panel pants, but I hate them.  I can't keep them up without pulling them up every 2 minutes.  And the shirts, they just fit funny.

The worst part??  Bras.  I am an underwire bra snob.  I have been wearing my previous bras all the way up until now, and then all of a sudden this growing  belly started pushing up on that wonderful piece of metal at the bottom of the bra, and I couldn't take it.  So, since I don't plan on wearing these wireless bras for long, I decided to go to Kohl's and get me a new bra.  Bad idea.  They were limited.  I guess there aren't many people in the world that are small wasted with slightly larger breasts that like to wear wireless.  It just doesn't make sense.  These babies need to be contained with a little stronger material!

I found a bra that fit and worked.  For a couple of hours.  The worst part is I bought 2 of the same bra to alternate.   They are so freaking uncomfortable.  So on top of this little alien inside of me that is kicking in every direction, I've got a bra that sucks.

So, I decided I would spend the money on my favorite brand, Soma.  Ordered my size online from the last time I went in to get measured (which was about 3 months ago).  I got it in the other day, and I was so excited.  I put it on, and I loved it.  For about 2 hours.  Then, it began digging into my side and rubbing all the wrong places.  UGH!  Not again.

I loved the feel of the bra.  I knew the cut would work if I just got the right size.  So, I made Brad let me go to the mall and actually try on the bra in a different size.  And luckily, they had the same bra with a bigger band width and the bigger cup size, so now, I'm in heaven.  This will do.  At least for now!

I guess you just can't fight reality for too long.  It will finally get to the point where you have to give in.  For all of my pregnant friends: don't fight it, just embrace it when it's time!  :)
