A much needed vacation

We are so blessed to have a wonderful family.  Brad's dad offered to take all of the children to Hawaii for a big family vacation.  Some matters have come up with Brad's step-sister, Jamie, in that she was diagnosed with breast cancer (same type as my mom's) and had to start treatment THIS week.  So, Brad's dad, Jamie's family, and Brad's brothers all chose to not go on the trip at the last minute.

We were given a choice on whether or not we wanted to go, and initially, we weren't going to go.  But after much discussion, and the need for the vacation, we decided to go.  All by ourselves.  We miss our family while we're here, but God knew what we needed.

2010 has not been the best year for us.  There has been so much emotion and roller coaster type rides in these last 10 months.  The best thing for us was to just pack up and go.

We are definitely not pregnant again this cycle (end of cycle 3).  I talked to my doctor extensively on the next step, and we always said we'd try more aggressive options after Hawaii.  So, we are planning on doing sonogram monitoring throughout my cycle to find when the actual ovulation is.  I will then take an HCG trigger shot to trigger the follicle to be released, and then we will go on to do an IUI shortly after that.  This is what the specialist I saw back in July wanted to do to start with, but we figured we'd give the less expensive option a shot since we hadn't been on any fertility medications.

So, we're moving on to the next cycle.  Emotionally, I say I'm okay, but every time I see little kids running around, or people holding babies, there's a little tinge of reminder that God has other plans, and sometimes I just don't do so well when things don't go MY way.  But, this is a constant reminder that HE is in control, not me.

Needless to say, with everything going on, me, sitting here typing with the sunrise to my right and the sound of the ocean waves below, is perfect.  God is amazing in what He has created and what we are so blessed to get to do.  Thank you Steve and Judy.  We love you, and you have no idea how much this means for us.
